Xiaojie Liu is an award-winning illustrator and designer based in New York. She received a BA in illustration & printmaking from the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in 2015 and an MFA in illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2018.
Her works have been recognized by AI-AP Latin American Illustration, Creative Quarterly, Ijungle Illustration Awards, Asian Illustration Annual Awards, among others. Over the years, she has collaborated with a wide range of clients, including Lyft (Nice Ride), McDonald's, Walmart, Barefoot Books, Macmillan, Editions Auzou, Grazia, LinkNYC, Children’s Theatre Company, the Weisman Art Museum, Propublica, the Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA), Phoenix Publishing and Media Inc, Literature for Children, China Campus Literature Magazine, and more.
Her children’s books, Reporting the Weather, Great Book of Fantastic Creatures, Sleeping Beauty, Metaverse, Computer Chips, and Message in a Mooncake, reflect her ongoing fascination with storytelling, cultural memory, and visual poetry. As her illustration voice became more fully formed, Xiaojie spent several years in New York working as a pattern designer, a practice that deepened her sensitivity to rhythm, repetition, and the emotional resonance of surface design.
Today, she is the founder and instructor of Hillside Art Studio. Through this space, Xiaojie hopes to share her evolving reflections on aesthetics, nurturing a community where curiosity, experimentation, and beauty can take root and grow.

小洁是一位常驻纽约的获奖插画家与设计师。她于 2015 年毕业于湖北美术学院版画系并获得插画与版画学士学位，随后于 2018 年取得明尼阿波利斯艺术与设计学院（MCAD）的插画硕士学位。
她的作品多次入选 AI-AP 拉丁美洲插画、Creative Quarterly、iJungle Illustration Awards、亚洲插画年度奖等重要艺术项目。多年来，她与诸多品牌与文化机构合作，包括 Lyft（Nice Ride）、麦当劳、沃尔玛、Barefoot Books、Macmillan、Editions Auzou、Grazia、LinkNYC、Children’s Theatre Company、魏斯曼艺术博物馆、ProPublica、明尼阿波利斯艺术博物馆（MIA）、凤凰出版传媒集团、《儿童文学》、《校园文学》等。
她创作的儿童书籍：《报天气》，《Great Book of Fantastic Creatures》，《睡美人》，《元宇宙》，《芯片》，《Message in a Mooncake》，展现了她对叙事、文化记忆与视觉诗意的持续探索。在形成成熟的插画语言之后，她也在纽约从事了多年的图案设计工作，这段经历进一步深化了她对节奏、重复，以及表面图形情绪张力的敏锐理解。
如今，小洁是 Hillside Art Studio 的创始人和导师。通过这一空间，她希望分享自己不断延展的美学思考，培育一个让好奇心、实验精神与美感自由生长的艺术社区。
